C’mon Downstairs to “frank’s cafe”
The best Hospitality in town—every Sunday!
We’re taking our Hospitality to the next level! Here’s a few of the recent updates:
We’re now wired for both sound and wifi. You can enjoy some tunes, coffee, and donuts while posting a selfie, all from the Parish Hall.
You may have noticed new café tables, couches, rugs, and tables. We’re about to add a coffee bar and children’s activity table. Murals and other decorations are currently in the works.
We’re re-imagining what our Sunday fellowship can be, and praying hard for inspiration on new, creative ways to open our doors and share the Spirit of our parish. Stay tuned as we move closer to a grand opening of Frank’s Café! ☕🍩🙏🎤
WANT TO GET MORE INVOLVED BUT SHORT ON TIME? JOIN A COMMITTEE!
We are a busy and growing parish which means that projects pop up from time-to-time that require short-term involvement from our parishioners. Currently we’re in need of expertise for the following committees:
Frank’s Cafe Design—We have big plans for our Parish Hall but need help with designing the space and sourcing furniture and bar/cafe supplies. If you have experience in space design, event planning, or have connections to wholesale furniture purchasing, we’d love your input!
Stewardship/18.95 Campaign Committee—We launched a new giving campaign last September and want to ensure its success for the good our parish. If you have a finance or non-profit fundraising background, your thoughts on what’s working and how we can grow our campaign would be of great help!
Faith for Special Needs Families—We want to share the Word with everyone, but realize that some families have a more difficult time at church than others. SFDS has helped many families in the past to grow in their faith and we want to do more outreach in this area. Let us know if you’d like to be a part of the conversation about how we can make SFDS as accessible as possible to families and invididuals who may need a little help in taking full advantage of God’s gift in our church.
consider SFDS for your employer’s matching gift program
Many companies give generously to charitable organizations supported by their employees. If you or your spouse work for an employer with a matching gifts program, your company may be able to increase the impact of what you have already given to our parish. Contact your human resources department to find out if if you can participate. As with your individual gifts, all corporate contributions to go towards the life-changing, soul-saving endeavors of SFDS! connecting sfds parents online
Trust us, we know how busy our young families are. Which is why we’ve created two online resources that we hope will make your lives a little bit easier and allow you to connect with each other more easily!
Visit our Religious Ed page at www.sfdsnyc.org/2018-2019 for reminders & schedules from Jayne and Jim for the upcoming week, photo galleries of our activities, and the yearly schedule.
Be sure to join our newly created private Facebook group for SFDS Parents where we’ll share announcements relevant to families, Catholic-inspired content especially for parents, and best of all you can communicate with each other. We hope this becomes a strong faith-based community hub for our parishioners with kids.
A FATHER KELLY RECOMMENDATION
In case you missed this on our Facebook page, here’s a wonderful article from America that perfectly encapsulates the sort of parish we strive to be: A NOISY ONE! Pope Francis recently called on youth to “make more noise.” Where there is noise, there is joy and energy and activity. And if you are making noise, you’ll likely feel more comfortable to smile at a fellow parishioner, make thoughtful suggestions to help our parish grow, and grow within our SFDS Family.
